I am also a person who likes to take photos. I often like to take pictures of the natural environment. 🔹SRI DALADA MALIGAWA

( The Temple of the tooth )

My hometown is Kandy. When you think of Kandy, Sri Dalada Palace is the place of pilgrimage for Buddhists.It is indeed a matter of pride for me. I can take the picture of Sri Dalada Palace as one of the most valuable photos I have taken.

Sri Dalada Maligawa, where the Buddha's left tooth is deposited, is considered a world-famous shrine.Every day, thousands of local and foreign tourists come to Kandy to worship the Tooth.In 1989, Dalada Maligawa was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Sri Dalada Maligawa is revered by Buddhist people from all over the world and other religious devotees also visit the temple. An architectural technique unique to the uplands has been used to build the Dalada Palace.To the north of the Dalada Maligawa, there are the old palaces, to the east the Udawatta forest, to the south are the lakes (Kiri Muhuda), and to the west are the Natha and Pattini temples. The four great temples of Natha, Vishnu, Pattini and Kataragama are connected to the palace.

🔹Peradeniya botanical garden

I have been going to the Peradeniya botanical garden since I was a child. So far, I have visited the garden several times.This garden can be known as a beautiful place that has attracted local and foreign tourists.This can be called a beautiful garden located in Peradeniya city, which is in Kandy city limits.We can use this garden for things like spending time having fun, getting happiness, going for a picnic.Peradeniya Flower Garden is named as a Royal Botanic Garden because of its beauty and scientific value.

Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. In 2016, the garden was visited by 1.2 million locals and 400,000 foreign visitors.[1] It is near the Mahaweli River (the longest river in Sri Lanka).[2] It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.[3] Attached to it is the "National Herbarium of Sri Lanka". The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Department of national botanic gardens.

🔹Mahawali River

The river that decorates the city of Senkadagala is the Mahaveliya. This river, kissing the top of the Samanala mountain and flowing down, protects the biodiversity.It flows through the center of the city and joins the ocean from Trincomalee.The following photo is represent by Mahaveli River.

The Mahaweli River Sinhala මහවැලි ගඟ, English -"Great Sandy River", Tamil - மகாவலி ஆறு [mahawali gangai], is a 335 km (208 mi) long river, ranking as the longest river in Sri Lanka. It has a drainage basin of 10,448 km2 (4,034 sq mi), the largest in the country, which covers almost one-fifth of the total area of the island.As part of Mahaweli Development programme, the river and its tributaries are dammed at several locations to allow irrigation in the dry zone, with almost 1,000 km2 (386 sq mi) of land irrigated.The production of hydroelectricity from six dams in the Mahaweli system supplies more than 40% of Sri Lanka's electricity needs. One of the many sources of the river is the Kotmale Oya.This is very beautiful river in sri lanka .

🔹Gatambe Temple

Gatambe temple is considered as a sacred place of miracles for Buddhists to worship.I have been going there to seek blessings since I was a child.Although it is known as Gatambe temple, its correct name is "Gatambe Rajopavanarama". This temple is located on both sides of the Colombo-Kandy road. This temple is located at a distance of about 5 km from Mahanuwara city. This temple is considered as a place where King Dutugemunu stayed in the past.

Almost all the vehicles going to Kandy stop by the side of the road near the Gatambe Temple and put an offering at the Gatambe Bodhi. And many people go to the Gotamba temple to do the same. Go to Kotambe Temple to get blessings. Gotambae temple is a belief in a certain heart of people. That's why the number of Buddhist people going to Gatambe Temple every day has increased. In the meantime, there are foreigners who come to getambe temple. They also visit this temple with devotion. Rajopavanaramaya is a sacred place in Gotamba which is worshiped by everyone.

🔹Pidurangala

Pidurangala is a place with a beautiful environment. Its surroundings are very cool. It has a very quiet environment. But the journey is a bit difficult. You have to go through an environment full of trees and leaves among stones and roots. You can see old ruins on the way to the top of the mountain. .When we climb to the top of the rock, the wind that comes will blow us too.And when we go up, we can take care of the beauty around us.It is important to visit the Pidurangala temple before going to Pidurangala.

This mountain is a remnant mountain located near Kimbissa village of Dambulla Divisional Secretariat in Matale district of Sri Lanka. The top is located at a height of about 340 meters above sea level.

Pidurangala is connected to Sigiriya like the bark of a tree. Pidurangala is a place that is not second to Sigiriya in terms of history. Pidurangala is found after about 1 Km on the road entering Sigiriya on Inamaluwa, Sigiriya road.

🔹Udawaththa Kale

I was walking in Udawatta forest through a school environmental pioneer trip. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural beauty of the environment. This is a picture taken at that time.

Udawattakele Royal Forest Park is located behind Sri Dalada Palace, Kandy. Designated as a reserve in 1856, this forest park was also designated as a sanctuary in 1938. There are about 405 species of plants in this forest, which is high in biodiversity. About 100 species of plants are endemic to our country. At that time this was also known as Na Vanaya. You can see a very rare puswela in Udawattakela. It is said that there was a tunnel from Bogambara Lake to here at that time.

This forest plays a big role in controlling environmental pollution in the city of Kandy, where the population is high. The Udawatta forest occupies a very important place hydrologically as a catchment area that releases water into waterways and lakes such as Mahaweli River, Kandy Lake etc.There are many plants and animals unique to Sri Lanka in this forest. "Na" forest takes an important place here.

This forest has two primary and secondary plant canopies and an understory. Due to this, in many places there is almost no substratum. The following species are prominent in this forest.

The Udawatta forest, which has a very beautiful environment with high biodiversity, helps a lot to take the breath away of the city of Kandy.

🔹Trinco Beach

Trincomalee Harbor is the largest natural harbor in Sri Lanka.I am a person who likes to spend time near the sea. Meanwhile, Trincomalee beach is very beautiful, so I spend time near that beach without realizing it.

Trincomalee is 237 km north-east of Colombo, 182 km south-east of Jaffna and 111 km north of Batticaloa, on the east coast of the island.Trincomalee beach is a very beautiful place. When you look at this beach, you feel happy. Also, the way the ships move and the way the boats go is very beautiful. I took this photo because of its beauty. Trincomalee beach is a paradise for tourists.

🔹Rose flower

I took this photo in my garden. It shows a time when a beautiful rose flower begins to bloom.Roses are often used for various purposes. To offer to Lord Buddha, in some cases between lovers, in birthday celebrations, in weddings, in various celebrations, sometimes in funerals. These roses are used.And these roses are used for Hair designs, flower beds and decorations.

Rosemary can be identified as light color and dark color in different colors like pink, red, yellow, orange, white etc.Roses can be identified according to different types. For example, China Rose, Damsak Rose, White Rose of York, Red Rose and etc.
